The My Boundary project, designed by Yi-Yun Chang, is a remarkable example of a modern and sustainable residential space. With a focus on functionality and aesthetics, this design showcases the perfect integration of form and function.
The key feature of My Boundary is its precise spatial planning, which allows the residential space to showcase its texture and function. The use of glass and glass block walls in the study room allows natural sunlight to transmit into the interior, creating a play of light and shadow that flows slowly throughout the space.
One of the unique aspects of this design is the emphasis on sustainability. The building materials used, such as carbonized plywood and wooden beams, undergo a high-temperature process that eliminates the need for formaldehyde removal products. This not only reduces resource consumption but also ensures a healthier living environment.
In terms of decorative materials, the TV wall is adorned with recyclable stone-like wall tiles made from PP foam, minimizing harm to the environment. The cabinets are composed of plywood, and the walls are made up of glass blocks with an environmentally friendly coating. These choices reflect the designer's commitment to using eco-friendly materials without compromising on aesthetics or texture.
The My Boundary property spans 69.42 square meters and is located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The project was completed in October 2020, showcasing the designer's dedication to creating sustainable living spaces.
Through the variation of light and shadow, My Boundary establishes a connection between the residents and the outdoor environment. The semi-circular decoration in the master room not only adds visual interest but also extends the perception of space. With every step, shadows and colors change, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for the inhabitants.
Yi-Yun Chang's design philosophy of energy-saving and sustainability is evident in every detail of My Boundary. From the installation of energy-efficient air conditioners to the use of eco-friendly materials, this design serves as a catalyst for raising awareness about sustainability and inspiring positive change.
In contemporary design trends, there is a growing emphasis on replacing non-recyclable materials with eco-friendly alternatives. My Boundary showcases how these materials can be seamlessly integrated into a design without compromising its aesthetic appeal or texture.
The use of metal elements throughout the space adds a touch of quality without being overly extravagant. The junction of the TV wall is adorned with titanium strips, enhancing the layers and overall quality of the design. These thoughtful details demonstrate the designer's ingenuity and bring a sense of surprise to the residents.
My Boundary, designed by Yi-Yun Chang, is a testament to the possibilities of creating sustainable and visually stunning residential spaces. It serves as a reminder that our choices as consumers have the power to shape the world we live in. By embracing sustainable design principles, we can create a better future for ourselves and the environment.
